Communications Minister extends partnership to MG Group

The Minister for Communications, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has assured a delegation from Media General Group of her utmost support and partnership in the area of public education and information with regards to activities of government.

Media General Group, operatives of TV, radio and online outlets paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Communications to finally introduce their new CEO, Mrs. Pearl Esu-Mensah and her team to the Minister.

The CEO reassured the Minister of their quest for objective coverage of all government activities and to provide information in a responsible way to the public.

Hon. Owusu-Ekuful took the opportunity to catalogue various initiatives the Ministry is embarking on for the group to trumpet it to the public. Notable amongst them are the reintroduction of the National Identification Cards, Digital Terrestrial Television and the Property Addressing System. She said government is keen on the digitalization drive to make life easier and comfortable for all.

The Country will be ready to migrate from analogue to digital in the second quarter of next year. This she said will give quality audio and visuals to the viewing public.

She was however very keen in the production of local content for public consumption. The Minister extended a hand of partnership to the group to enable government inform the public frequently.
