NCA Board Inaugurated

Hon Ursula Owusu - Ekuful has urged members of the board of the National Communications Authority to help with the Transformation of the Communications Industry with their expertise. She said this at a ceremony to induct the board of NCA into office to steer the affairs of the Agency. The ceremony was held at the conference room of the Ministry of Communications. 

The National Communications Authority, an Agency of the Ministry of Communications exists as the National Regulatory Authority for electronic Communications and management of spectrum in addition to other Telecommunication related matters.

In her speech she was confident the board will help enrich the strategic decision making process so as to guide the management of the NCA to deliver on strategic initiatives in the sector to meet the challenges in creating a robust and secure information and knowledge society in Ghana.

She hinted that a Central Digital Transmission Network Company will soon be operational in accordance with the National Multiplex operator to manage the transmission aspect of broadcasting value chain.

The Minister also added that the NCA will play a prominent role in the implementation of the National Cyber Security Policy and strategy.

The chairman of the eight member board, Mr. Kwaku Sakyi - Addo expressed gratitude to the President for the honor and confidence he has reposed in them and pledged to work in harmony with other relevant Agencies to achieve success.
