The minister's visit was to interact with management and staff, get an update on the agency’s activities, plans, challenges and how they intend to expand the centre infrastructure to train more young people in the country.

Speaking at the meeting, the Managing Director, Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah said the Centre has a core mandate to provide a conducive environment for digital innovators and entrepreneurs.

Touching on the challenges, Mr Ofosu Nkansah said the ADC is not able to generate enough to sustain the operations of the centre and not enough to do capital project.

The Managing Director called for the Ministers’ intervention to help the Centre get more funds to rehabilitate the dilapidated infrastructures and fix outmoded office equipment in various offices in the country.

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in her remarks urged the centre to engage better with the Ministry so that it can be factored in programme and activities.

For the sector to attract more funding, Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful charged the staff to learn how to write proposals and develop programs to get more partners.

Management and staff were advised to use social media handles, advertise their activities to the public to get more partnership from both within and outside the country.

She commended them for a good work done and asked them to allow the Ministry and its agencies and stakeholders to help them move to the next level in their field of work.

In attendance were the Deputy Minister designate, Mrs. Ama Pomaa Boateng, Management and staff of Accra Digital Centre and some staff from the Ministry Communications and Digitalisation.
