The need for African countries to build their digital economies and enhance regional integration could not have been better emphasized than at the 2018 International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Africa Regional Development Forum held recently in Accra. 
 

Ghana Seeks to be Elected ITU Council Member

 
The 2018 International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Africa Regional Development Forum ended in Accra on Friday 20th July, 2018 with a call on the ITU Africa member countries to support Ghana’s quest to be elected to the ITU Council.
 
Under the theme “ICT 4SDGs: Towards the implementation of WTD17 Outcomes,” the forum was attended by representatives from academia, private sector and state institutions from all over Africa.
 

ITU Regional Development Forum Opens In Accra

Government through the Ministry of Communications opened the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Development Forum (RDF) at the Accra International Conference Centre to brainstorm and exchange experiences and best practices in the implementation of Regional Initiatives.

A symposium has been held as part of activities to observe World Telecommunication and Information Society day by the Ministry of Communications in collaboration with the National Communications Authority (NCA) in Accra on the theme “Artificial Intelligence for social good”. Other activities for the celebration were a flag raising event and opening ceremony.
 

2018 International Girls in ICT Celebration marked in Kumasi

The Ministry of communications has climaxed this year’s International Girls in ICT Day Celebration with a grand durbar at the great hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi on the theme “expand horizons, change attitudes”. The program which commenced in 2012 has seen several young girls benefit from the initiative from seven regions of the country.
 

Mexican Ambassador calls on Communications Minister

The Mexican Ambassador to Ghana H.E Maria de Los Angeles ARRIOLA AGUIRRE paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Minister for Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu –Ekuful on Wednesday, 2nd of May, 2018.
 
The Ambassador called for closer collaboration between the two countries and reciprocal support for their candidatures for re-election to ITU council. She also called for direct flights between Mexico and Ghana to promote tourism and attract investors for socio economic development.
