Indian High Commissioner calls on Minister for Communications and Digitalisation

The Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency Sugandh Rajaram has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Communications and Digitalistaion, Hon Ursula Owusu Ekuful (MP) on Tuesday 31st August 2021.

Mr Rajaram said the visit is to strengthen the already strong relation between Ghana and India as far as ICT is concerned and also to have some discussions in that regard.

2021 Girls-in-ICT trainer of trainer’s kick-starts in Western- North Region

The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation (MoCD) and its agencies has kick-started this year’s Trainer of Trainers (ToT) in Sefwi-Wiawso Municipality in the Western North Region today, Tuesday, 17th of August 2021 as part of the bi-annual National Girls in ICT Celebrations. In all, 100 teachers will benefit from the training. They will in turn train a thousand girls (1000) from ten (10) selected districts in the region.

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP), has said that the Postal Services in Africa or across the globe has not changed in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

She was speaking at the Congress of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday, 18th August 2021. It was under the theme” COVID-19 and the Postal Sector- what has and has not changed-what needs to change.” in Abidjan.

Communications and Digitalisation Ministry’s Girls-in-ICT Program gets 10 Million Cedis Support from MTN

Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful today (1st September 2021) received a 10 million cedi cheque from the Telecommunications giant, MTN, to support the Ministry’s Girls-in-ICT program over a three (3) year period as part of their 25th Anniversary Celebrations.

3 Rural Telephony Sites Commissioned in Assin

Communications and Digitalisation Minister, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has today, 23rd August 2021 commissioned three Rural Telephony sites in the Assin North Municipality.

The sites are located at Assin Senchem, Assin Atwereboana and Assin Bediadua in the Central Region. It is a project under the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) and an initiative to connect the town and surrounding communities to telecommunication services.

Minister Commissions Four ICT Labs in Assin

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has on Monday, 23rd of August 2021 commissioned four ultra-modern ICT Laboratory Centers in the Assin North, Assin South and Assin Central Municipality.

MoCD undertakes clean-up Exercise

Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP) Inaugurates MOCD Entity Tender Committee

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP) today (28th July 2021) inaugurated and swore in a nine (9) member Entity Tender Committee at the Ministry’s conference room in Accra.

The role of the committee is to review procurement plans to ensure that they support the objectives and operations of the Ministry.  It will also facilitate contract administration and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements under the Public Procurement Act, Act 663 and Act 914 as amended.

Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation Launches Ladies’ Fun-Club

The Deputy Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Hon. Ama Pomaa Boateng on Friday, 30th of July 2021 launched a fun club for ladies of the Ministry in a virtual event via zoom.

Held at the Ministry’s conference room, the club is aimed at empowering women to take up challenging leadership positions as well as contribute to development.
