SUMMARY:Africa Telecommunications Union (ATU) 25th Session of Administrative Council meeting
DESCRIPTION:ATU is made up of 44 member states and other private sector members. The ATU has a Governing Council in between Plenipotentiary Conference held every four years to elect the Council members and the Secretary General. Ghana is an ATU Council member. ATU holds preparatory meetings for all ITU Conferences and Assemblies to coordinate African Common proposals. ATU holds capacity building workshops and fora for its members. \nATU has scheduled 8th to 10th July 2024 to host the ATU 25th Session of Administrative Council meeting in Kinshasha\, Democratic Republic of Congo\, and Ghana will be a participant

DESCRIPTION:The Ministry has launched the 2024 Ms. Geek Ghana contest and is requesting for innovative\, scalable and feasible ICT solutions from young ladies between the ages of 13 to 21 across the country. The deadline for submission of application is 18th July 2024. \nFifteen (15) shortlisted applications will be taken through a master class to fine-tune their projects. There will be a grand finale where all contestants will present their projects to a panel for a winner to be selected. The winner will be groomed to represent Ghana at the Ms. Geek Africa Contest\, which will be held during the Transform Africa Summit\, Nairobi\, Kenya in August 2024\, and will receive cash prizes\, business support\, and more. \nIt is expected that the Initiative will bridge the digital gender divide and encourage girls to pursue STEM-related courses.
