Forbes8 App Launched

A Deputy Minister for Communications, Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei, has advised entrepreneurs to invest in knowledge in the era of digital revolution to grow wealth as government creates an enabling environment to promote business.
 
Speaking at the launch of Forbes8 App on Friday, January 25, 2019 on behalf of the Communications Minister, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Hon. Odotei noted that government is embarking on an ambitious infrastructure development programme for the ICT sector with national broadband infrastructure and total connectivity for the unserved and underserved.
 
The App was launched in partnership with local internet provider, Busy Internet with the aim of championing entrepreneurship to build a better future.
 
“Technology is impacting every area of our lives and forcing us to rethink old systems and innovate daily. Building strong entrepreneurial skills through the use of a digital channel like Forbes8 will position Ghanaians to take advantage of the opportunities provided” he said. 
 
Hon. Sowah Odotei expressed excitement about the fact that Forbes chose Ghana as the first country in Africa to launch this app he considered a ‘game changer’ with respect to economic gains for Ghanaians.
 
He also noted that with the access to the App, it is hoped that Ghanaian business owners strengthen their business partnerships, build digital economics and foster innovations and growth in the country. 
 
Hon. Odotei gave the assurance that his ministry was working to address risks and challenges in a digital landscape like cybersecurity.
 
 “I believe you will agree with me that the disrupting power of the technology is impacting every area of our lives and forcing us to rethink and innovate daily. Building strong entrepreneurial skills through the use of a digital channel like Forbes8 will position Ghanaians to take advantage of the opportunities provided.’’ He concluded.
 
ABOUT THE APP
 
The app which will soon be available for download on Android and iOS has been designed to equip entrepreneurs and business minds as they traverse their careers.
 
The app, according to Forbes has been built to inspire the fast-changing global workplace. 
 
In partnership with Busy Internet, Forbes will be offering affordable data packages which can be accessed via mybusy portal, the short code *3108# or the app.
 
After logging into the app, users will get the opportunity to watch, listen to seminars and interact with business leaders. Interestingly, Ghana is the maiden country to benefit from Forbes8 Network, providing an opportunity for Ghanaians to join and watch streams from live business events and interactions from around the world.
