Mauritius to Invest In Tema ICT Park

A delegation of Mauritian investors has visited the Tema Information Communication Technology (ICT) Park to inspect progress of work. This follows a decision by the investors to inject $260 million to finance the technology park.

 Briefing the media during the tour of the ICT Park, a deputy Minister of Communications, Mr. Ato Sarpong explained that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Ghana and the Mauritius would see to the building of about 10 storeys of 52 buildings for ICT purposes as well as other businesses for both local and international entrepreneurs.

 Mr. Ato Sarpong indicated that the first phase of the project estimated to be GH.200 million is expected to be completed within 18-36 months, adding that when completed, each building would create 500 jobs for the youth and generate revenue for the country.

 The Deputy Minister also disclosed government’s preparedness to provide land facilities, incentives, legal bindings and other amenities.

The Chairman of the Board of Investment, Mauritius, Gerard Sanspeur, expressed delight at the level of work done so far. He said Mauritius would provide the funds as well as expertise to come out with a world class ICT centre to promote Ghana as well as attract foreign investors.
