Ministry of Communications Embraces Newly Manufactured App – “Rescue Me”

The Ministry of Communications in fulfillment of its mandate has given its support to local technology companies in the country to bring out innovations that will help solve everyday problems in our societies.
 “Rescue Me” is an application designed by Rescue Info-Solutions and Technology Ltd. for prompt responses pertaining to emergency issues in our societies.
The App is able to detect the location of the user at all times as all users are mandated to disclose their location  through a Ten (10) second video to proof dire need of the situation. 
The Deputy Minister for Communications, Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei in a speech heralded the start of a locally manufactured App aimed at enhancing the living condition of Ghanaians. 
Hon. Odotei added that, the Ministry was ready to partner any local manufacturer to find solutions to problems in our society. It is in this regard that the Ministry is putting together a “Tech in Ghana” conference to give opportunity to other local Technology Companies to showcase what they have in terms of solutions through technology.
He enumerated a number of policies that the Ministry is embarking on to digitize the country:  The National ID card system, Property Addressing System, Digital Migration among others are all initiatives the Ministry is embarking on to help make life easy and comfortable. 
The Chief Executive Officer of Rescue Info-Solutions and Technology Ltd., Mr. Selasi Koffi Ackom was much honored to have such support from the Ministry. He took the gathering through a presentation on the operations of the newly manufactured app and said it was important for every Ghanaian to download the app because it would save lives in emergency situations.
According to Mr.  Ackom, the idea behind the development of this app was to find a close-to-definite solution to one of Ghana’s problems with regards to prompt response to emergency issues.
He stressed that the company is in partnership with all emergency institutions in the country such as the Ghana Ambulance, the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana police Service and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) among others.
