Ursula Owusu to receive Digital Leader of the Year Award at GITTA 2021

 
Minister for Communications and Digitisation, Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful would be receiving the digital leader of the year award at the 11th Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Awards (GITTA 2021) scheduled for October 29th 2021 at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
 

Tertiary Ladies in ICT Residential Program Ends

The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation has climaxed its residential module training for female tertiary students in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Scratch (Game &Dialogue). It was organised in partnership with Huawei Technologies, Ghana, S.A. Limited. 

Participants were drawn from the University Students Association of Ghana (USAG) and were taken through a Ten (10) day training programme in Artificial Intelligence and cyber-Security. 

Government’s Digital Transformation Agenda resides on ICT and Telecommunications-URSULA

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, says the digital transformation agenda of government resides on both ICT and Telecommunications, and the ability to manage the communication sector well enough. 
 
Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful said this when she inaugurated the board of trustees for the National Communications Authority (NCA) on Monday, 4th 2021. 
 

Data Protection Board of Trustees Inaugurated

Communications and Digitalisation Minister, Mrs Ursula Owusu- Ekuful today, 4th October 2021 inaugurated a board of trustees for the Data Protection Commission (DPC) with a call on members to ensure that privacy of the individual and personal data is protected.
 

Ursula Inaugurates Postal and Courier Services Regulatory Commission’s Governing Board

Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has inaugurated the governing board for the Postal and Courier Regulatory Commission (PCSRC) today, 4th October 2021. 
 
The board is made up of Mr. Paul Aborah-Boateng as the board chair with Mad. Hamdaratu Zakaria; Mr. Clifford Bansah; Hon. Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah; Prof. Mrs Olivia Anku-Tsede; Mad. Alice Quarshie and Mrs Veronica Rita Ama Sackey as members. 
 

MoCD and GIZ’s Digital Transformation Center to Promote Inclusive Digital Economy and Society

The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation and GIZ’s Digital Transformation Center has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to guide the partnership between the two parties to achieve an inclusive digital economy and society. 
 
Under this shared vision, every citizen, notably women and young people are targeted to have the opportunity to participate in the digital world.  
 

My Flood Risk Accra App Launched

Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has launched a flood app dubbed “My Flood Risk Accra App”. 
 
“The flood app allows you to monitor the water-levels in your neighborhood or Municipality to inform the possibilities of flooding. It also has multiple flood maps (locations) different return periods and literacy information on the preparedness, prevention, response and recovery measures”.

Implement Digital Inclusion Policies – Hon. Usurla Owusu Ekuful

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Hon Ursula Owusu Ekuful (MP), says it is important to implement digital inclusion policies to enable the digital transformation agenda of government which will ensure a universal access to ICTs.

“Government is convinced that technological developments and advancement all over the world have strongly influenced the growth and development of countries and Ghana is no different” she said.

Minister Inaugurates Nine-Member Board for GDNR

The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful on Wednesday, 22nd September 2021 swore into office a nine (9) member board of trustee for the Ghana Domain Name Registry (GDNR) with a call on members to use their diverse backgrounds, skills and expertise to carefully navigate the redelegation process to ensure its successful completion. 
 

NITA Board Inaugurated

Board of Trustees for the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has been inaugurated by the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful with a call on agencies that regulate ICT space to do their jobs effectively. 
 
The National Information Technology Agency was established by the NITA Act, Act 771 in 2008 and supported by the Electronic Transactions Act (772) as the ICT policy implementing arm of the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation.
