Ministry of Communications Displays at the Ghana Results Fair

On Tuesday 14th January 2020, the Ministry of Communications (MoC) and its agencies joined other Ministries, Departments and Agencies to exhibit at the Ghana Results Fair. The three-day event which is being held at the Accra International Conference Center was opened by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with other ministers and dignitaries in attendance.

MoC to showcase achievements at the Ghana Results Fair

The Ministry of Communications as a Government supervisory arm of the communications sector will be well represented at the Ghana Results Fair showcasing the works of its agencies from 2017 to date.

Ministry of Communications participates in performance signing ceremony event

On Wednesday, 8th January, three agencies of the Ministry of Communications – Accra Digital Center, Ghana Meteorological Agency and Ghana Posts – signed Performance Contracts with the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) at a ceremony held at the Labadi Beach Hotel. The Guest of honour was the Vice President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Interrogate the Application of International Law in Cyberspace – Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful to the International Community

STRASBOURG, FRANCE – NOVEMBER 20, 2019: The Minister for Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has asked the international community to interrogate the application of international law in cyberspace. Delivering a keynote speech at the formal opening of the Octopus Conference 2019 in Strasbourg, France, the Minister challenged the international community to test the application of existing international laws in dealing with global cybercrime threats. According to the Minister, further clarity is needed on this issue with the growth of the global digital economy.


The Minister for Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has urged young girls to prove their worth and correct stereotypes that limit their participation and career development in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).


The Minister said girls and women are more capable of making a difference in the ICT industry when given the needed push, hence the initiative.

Ministry of Communications Launches National Cyber Security Awareness Month

The Minister for Communications, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful launched the 2019 National Cyber Security Awareness Month to kick start activities lined up to educate the public on the trend of cybercrime in the country. This year’s celebration was on the theme ‘Demonstrating Ghana’s Cyber security Readiness’


This year’s celebration has been enhanced with the launch of the Incident Reporting Point of Contact, a platform that will facilitate reporting of cybercrime and cyber security incidents.


Ursula Honoured In Hungary

Ghana’s Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has been recognized at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World Awards 2019 in Budapest, Hungary.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful was recognized for her “exceptional commitment and participation as a valuable partner in ITU Telecom World events.”


International Day for Universal Access to Information marked in Accra

This year’s International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI) was marked in Accra last Friday with assurance by government to invest in world class communication infrastructure to drive sustainable development.

It was held on the theme, ‘’Access to Information – leaving no one behind!’’
