
The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), on Tuesday, 30th September 2025, engaged the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communications as part of the Committee’s oversight visit to the Ministry.
The meeting, held at the Ministry’s Conference Room, provided an opportunity for the Minister and his management team to brief Members of Parliament on key policies, regulatory frameworks, and the operational mandates of agencies under the Ministry.
Hon. George highlighted the Ministry’s policy direction aimed at improving quality of service in the telecommunications sector, expanding digital inclusion to underserved communities, strengthening consumer protection, and advancing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
He also provided updates on ongoing legislative reviews, spectrum management, and infrastructure development such as the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) rollout.
Chairman of the Committee commended the Ministry for the detailed briefing, noting that concerns raised by constituents on telecom service quality, accessibility gaps, and other sector issues were well addressed. He added that the Committee will continue engagements with the agencies under the Ministry in the coming days to gain deeper operational insights.
The Minister expressed appreciation to the Committee for its collaborative approach and reaffirmed government’s commitment to working with Parliament to ensure policies and initiatives in the communications sector deliver tangible benefits to the Ghanaian people.
