Sylvia is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant, Ghana (FCA). She also holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Project Management from the University of Ghana Business School and a post graduate diploma in Financial Management from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.

With over 25 years of financial management expertise in the public sector, she is committed to significant improvements in the public financial management systems. Sylvia has had the opportunity to work in Ministries like the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Health, Railways, and currently with the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations as Director of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal auditing provides objective assurance and insight into Governing Bodies and Senior Management, enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of governance, risk management, and internal control processes. The Internal Audit Unit commits to delivering:

She is responsible for providing advice to the Chief Director in matters relating to accountancy.
Oversee the receipt , disbursement and provision of secure custody for all funds allocated to the Ministry to ensure smooth financial operations
Ensure the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual financial statements to the Controller and Accountant General and the Auditor General
Conduct thorough financial analysis and forecasting that provides valuable insights to decision making and guide the Ministry in the achievements of its objectives
Make input into the preparation and review of the Annual Budget of the Ministry and a member of the Budget Committee
Ensure compliance with financial laws, accounting instructions and administrative regulations in maintaining the Ministry’s financial integrity.
Undertake career management and development activities for the Finance staff.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Director
