The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has reaffirmed government’s commitment to promoting homegrown technological innovation, describing local Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives as crucial to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
He made the remarks when officials from Dodo Technologies Limited, a Ghanaian AI and communication technology company, paid a courtesy call to brief him on preparations for the upcoming Dodo Summit 2025, scheduled for 10th December 2025 at the UPSA Auditorium, Accra.
Hon. Samuel Nartey George lauded the company for its ingenuity in developing indigenous solutions aimed at addressing communication challenges across sectors.
The Minister also directed the team to work with the Director of Innovations at the Ministry, Mr. Emmanuel Ofori, for a thorough technical assessment and possible pilot of their system within the public sector.
He emphasized that empowering local innovators aligns with government’s drive to build a self-reliant and inclusive digital economy, anchored on data sovereignty, innovation, and digital governance.
The Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dodo Technologies, Mr. Kane Mani briefed the Minister on the company’s groundbreaking work to “end fragmented communication” through an AI platform that unifies internal communication, customer engagement, and public interaction.
He noted that the technology was entirely developed in Ghana, demonstrating the country’s growing capacity for technological excellence.
Mr. Mani mentioned that the Dodo Summit 2025, themed “The End of Fragmented Communication,” will bring together policymakers, private sector leaders, innovators, and technology enthusiasts to explore AI policy, digital governance, and the future of communication in Africa.
