The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, together with its implementing partners, yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Upper West Regional Minister, Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing Esq., to brief him on activities to be undertaken in the region as part of the Girls-in-ICT Programme.
The meeting was led by Mr Issac Newton on behalf of the Ministry, the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), and Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE).
The team outlined key preparatory steps carried out to ensure a successful rollout of the programme in the region.
These included visits to selected schools and venues across the Upper West Region to assess their readiness for hosting training sessions and related activities.
In his response, Hon. Puozuing commended the Ministry and its partners for choosing the Upper West Region as a host and reaffirmed his support for the programme’s implementation.
He also provided useful insights and recommendations on the regional set-up, cultural norms, and protocols that should be considered in aligning national programmes with the unique context of the region.
