The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has established a Stakeholder Committee to urgently address concerns over MultiChoice Ghana’s pricing structure.
This follows the 30-day directive issued by the National Communications Authority (NCA), which expires on 6th September 2025. Ahead of the deadline, MultiChoice pledged to engage in a consultative process, similar to the approach used to reduce mobile data prices earlier this year. The company, however, requested an additional 30 days to conclude the process.
Rejecting that request, Minister Sam George granted a strict 14-day timeline, inclusive of weekends, for the Committee to deliver a revised pricing framework.
The Committee, chaired by the Minister, includes representatives from the Ministry, the NCA, MultiChoice Ghana, and MultiChoice Africa. It is expected to submit its recommendations by 21st September 2025.
The Minister stressed Government’s commitment to fairness and consumer protection, noting that the review is intended to ensure affordable access to pay-TV services for Ghanaians.
