The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has introduced the newly appointed Deputy Director-General of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), Hon. Mohammed Abdul-Aziz (MP), as government strengthens efforts to scale up National Digital Skills Training.
Speaking at a brief meeting at GI-KACE, the Minister said the appointment forms part of ongoing institutional reforms aimed at improving coordination and delivery of emerging digital capacity-building programmes. He noted that the Ministry is preparing to roll out an expanded national digital skills initiative and requires stronger collaboration between its agencies.
The new Deputy Director-General will support programme implementation, working closely with the Ministry and relevant agencies to ensure smooth execution and alignment with national priorities.
The Minister urged all stakeholders to provide full support, emphasising that the coming year will be crucial for advancing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, especially the One Million Coders Programme.
Hon. Mohammed Abdul-Aziz (MP), expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work closely with the leadership of KACE, GIFEC and the Ministry to deliver on the President’s vision.
He acknowledged the urgency of the assignment and assured the team of his commitment to driving execution with the necessary energy and collaboration.
