Director, Internal Audit

Maxwell Asare-Brewu serves as the Director of Internal Audit at the Ministry. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA in Internal Auditing from the University of Professional Studies, Accra. With over thirty years of professional experience, Maxwell has worked in various institutions, specializing in finance, audit, and risk management. He currently chairs the Audit Committees of the Ghana Statistical Service and Allied Health Professions Council and serves as an Audit Committee Member in multiple institutions. Maxwell also holds the position of Chairman of the Internal Auditors Association, MDAs.

Appraisal and Reporting: Evaluate the soundness and application of the system of controls in the covered entity and provide reports.
Risk Management and Governance: Assess the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes and contribute to their improvement.
Assurance and Efficiency: Provide assurance on the efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of program administration and operations.
Compliance Evaluation: Evaluate compliance with enactments, policies, standards, systems, and procedures.
