The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has assured the Regional Media Advocacy for Health, Environment and Science Network (REMAPSEN) of government support towards the successful hosting of its 2026 Africa Media Forum and Awards in Ghana.
The assurance was given when a delegation led by Madam Emefa Atiamoah Eli, the Country Coordinator of REMAPSEN paid a courtesy call on the Minister to formally introduce the network and seek partnership ahead of the event scheduled for the second week of October 2026. The forum is expected to attract over 200 journalists and key stakeholders from across Africa.
Welcoming the delegation, the Minister acknowledged the relevance of REMAPSEN’s work in advancing advocacy on health, environment and science through the media.
For her remarks , Madam Emefa Atiamoah Eli , highlighted the network’s presence in over 43 countries across West and Central Africa and its membership drawn from reputable media organisations.
She noted that Ghana’s selection as host country reflects its strong media landscape and commitment to professional journalism.
She expressed optimism that with government backing and multi-sector collaboration, the 2026 REMAPSEN Forum would not only promote ethical journalism but also position Ghana prominently on the continental stage.
