The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, joined the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) in January 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part efforts to deepen international collaboration to bridge the digital divide.
The DCO is a global multilateral body that aims to enable digital prosperity for all by accelerating the inclusive growth of the digital economy. The DCO brings together Governments, Private Sector, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and Civil Society to enable more inclusive digital transformation and the growth of digital industries. The DCO brings together governments from 16 countries from Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe, collectively representing nearly $3.5 trillion in GDP and a market of nearly 800 million people, more than 70% of whom are under the age of 35.
Ghana participated in the 2024 General Assembly meeting held from 29th January to 2nd February 2024 in Manam, Kingdom of Bahrain.
