The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George (MP), has pledged direct government action to position Ghana as a leading Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Global Business Services (GBS) destination, committing the Ministry to concrete policy support, infrastructure facilitation, and skills alignment to accelerate sector growth.
Speaking at a High-Level Government–Industry Roundtable hosted by Concentrix in Accra on Wednesday, 13th May 2026, the Minister declared that the Ministry will serve as “an enabler of the ecosystem,” working in close partnership with key institutions to unlock investment and expand job creation across the sector.
He gave assurances to industry players, including members of the Business Outsourcing Services Association of Ghana (BOSAG), that investor requests for operational space will be treated as priority government assignments, with public infrastructure leveraged to reduce setup costs significantly.
The Minister pointed to a shared infrastructure model already being rolled out across agencies under the Ministry, including the Cyber Security Authority, Data Protection Commission, National Communications Authority, and Ghana Post , capable of cutting operational costs.
On market expansion, he announced active trade missions to Zambia and Malawi to promote Ghanaian businesses abroad, alongside coordinated efforts through diplomatic missions to attract inbound foreign investment.
The Minister called on the company to double its projected job creation target of 8,000 by 2030, pledging that the Ministry would match that ambition with the policy and operational support required.
The Minister anchored skills development commitments in the One Million Coders Programme, which commenced this week across the training centres nationwide.
He was of the view that the programme’s measure of success is job placement, not training numbers alone, disclosing that negotiations are already underway with industry to secure many placements from the initiative.
On the business environment, the Minister cited ongoing reforms including an electronic visa system being developed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and accelerated business registration processes as evidence of government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business.
